By adopting an innovative approach, we have partnered with numerous and diversified Southern Highlands palliative care service providers, to deliver funding and support.

Throughout the Southern Highlands, demand for a diversified approach to palliative care is growing at a rapid pace. By employing a fresh approach to thinking, innovative concepts in how palliative and hospice care can be made accessible has resulted in the implementation of programs to fund and support the community. The following services are available to those in need of palliative care living in the Wingecarribee Shire:

Palliative Care

In partnership with palliative care specialists, we can provide funding for diverse palliative care needs such as additional nursing, social work, carer support and equipment hire.

Pharmaceutical Support

We can offer assistance with the ongoing cost of prescriptions and other pharmacy costs. This assistance is not means-tested and is available to individuals receiving palliative care.

Biography & Life Story Service

A personal biography can help foster reflection on one's life and communicate experiences and wisdom. This free service helps to preserve your memories and tell your story.

About Southern Highlands Community Hospice

The Southern Highlands Community Hospice (SHCH) was established in 2010 as a charitable organisation, to provide hospice and palliative care services for the Southern Highlands community.

Initially, a purpose-built hospice was to be built however, due to a lack of government funding and a reliable income stream to support such an ambitious project, the Constitution was revised in 2017 to a model that funds and supports palliative care through an ever-growing channel of partners committed to the needs of palliative care and end-of-life patients.

We are a registered company and community-based charity, underpinned by a dynamic team of over 80 volunteers.

Currently, the charity is supported by our retail store on Bong Bong Street, Bowral, Timeless Fashion and Furniture, which on-sells pre-loved donated quality merchandise. Revenue generated directly supports patients requiring palliative care services through our partnership arrangements.

We are committed to this comprehensive and successful charitable funding model and its future opportunities to meet the palliative care needs of our fast-growing Southern Highlands community.

Our charity retail shop, Timeless, is the major fundraising initiative of the Southern Highlands Community Hospice.

Located in the heart of Bowral, the store is solely supported by generous donations from the local community and raises significant funds to support local palliative care services.

Timeless is an emporium of discovery, housing quality treasures including fashion, furniture, bric-a-brac and art, for sale at very modest prices.

If you have quality fashion and/or furniture that you would like to donate or if you would like to become a retail volunteer, we would love to hear from you.
