Celebrations all around as the financial year comes to an end.
Timeless continues to reach new highs with high-quality donations, sales, a new look and a very successful winter fashion event. Congratulations, Sarah, our talented volunteer team, Alister and Davide.
Services have also reached a new high, with well over $300,000 spent to support palliative care services in our community. Our service providers and volunteers have truly delivered a well-coordinated service, as evidenced by several very positive testimonials and monetary donations over the last month.
Together, these achievements highlight the remarkable impact our volunteers, staff, supporters, and donors are having on the lives of those we serve.

At our June board meeting, we start with a moment of reflection for the people in the community supported by SHCH who have died during the month. Particular mention was made of our long-standing member, Mr Ian Langford, who had volunteered, along with his wife, Sue, for many years. Ian will be missed.
We heard from Jessica Raschke, counsellor and psychotherapist (Grief Specialist), who presented a proposal for a bereavement support service that would provide compassionate, professional, and trauma-informed grief support and counselling to individuals and families connected with our charity.

Strategic Priority 1 – Quality Services was the focus this month.
We will continue to explore how we can grow our palliative care and biography services and ensure they are sustainable into the future. Recruitment of a volunteer coordinator to coordinate Pall Care volunteers (Harbison and in-home) is needed. The role would include recruitment, training and rostering. If this sounds like something you would like to get involved in, please let me know.
We have set our funding model for service providers for the next financial year at $300,000 to be revisited as funds and needs are identified. Over 20 partners are currently providing high-quality palliative care support, equipment and services.
We welcome four new SHCH members in June, all bringing a wealth of experience in Palliative Care and a strong commitment to working with the charity. Welcome Bronwyn Heron, Mary Ramsay, Ann Crawford and Dr Michael Ryan.
As we move into winter, we wish everyone a happy, healthy and productive month ahead. Thank you for being part of SHCH, and all the very best for July.
